Side effect of adderall??? | ADHD Information

I stopped taking Adderall XR for that exact reason.  I noticed that it made me more irritable and intensified my anger.  I have another friend who experienced similar problems.  We're both 23, so we are a bit more in touch with describing and realizing these things.  As a kid, I don't know that I would have identified such issues.  We both switched to Concerta and have been pleased.  They are different types of meds.  I would give it a try.

My 9 yr old daughter was put on adderall at the begining of September for impulse control issues.  While we haven't had the complaints from her teacher we have had in years past I am starting to notice that she loses her temper very quickly and than not 10 minutes later she is calm and apologetic. Her anger is very intense. She will scream, throw things, kick, slam doors, and dig her heels in. While she has never been an angel, this type of anger isn't normal for her. I am worried. Has anyone else experienced this?

SIDE EFFECTS OF ANY KIND IN MY BOOK OUR BAD REGARDLESS OF SEVERITY. ANGER ISSUES i BELIEVE ARE ANXIETY/FRUSTIRATED RELATED. MOST WHO SAY NO OBVIOUSLY NEVER BEEN THERE.

I agree with the frustration, my 9 year old would turn into Mr. Hyde for little things. Now that he is off the meds, he is back to himself. I am glad I don't get the LOOK or angry outbreaks any longer.

Just wanted to let you know that I pulled my son off the adderall for anger and depression issues. He did fine the first year and a half but long term effects do cause mood disorders. We are trying Attend natural products now, but have had very little sucess as of yet. I do have a prescription for concerta that I am considering starting from the doc, but he goes under evaluation November 8 for a better diagnosis. Good luck! I know what you are going thru and it is a tough road to hoe.

Adderall causes me to be even crabbier than I already am. Too bad because it really worked the best for my ADHD
