Patch and warm weather? | ADHD Information
Don't know anything about the patch specifically or humidity, but I used to be on a birth control that used a patch delivery system and I imagine the adhesive is similar if not identical, but of course, I don't know that for sure, so this information could be completely irrelevent.
Anyway, I did find it very useful to wipe down the area you want it on with rubbing alcohol to remove oils from the skin. Also, taking a shower beforehand and remembering to not use any lotion turned out to be pretty crucial.
On another note, since band-aid's were mentioned, you have to be really careful before you put anything over it. My doctor told me that tape/band aids, for example, were usually OK but anything with ink that could seep through on to the patch could end up interferring with the absorption of the medication. Just thought it was worth mentioning since I didn't know this and started writing trivia questions on my patch to make up for its lack of aesthetics...oops. And yes I know I have problems. =)I'm in Gladstone - central queensland - on the coast south of Rockhampton - hence the name happy rock - glad stone !!!We don't have the patch yet in Australia, but it my specialist feels that it would not work for us due to the tropical weather where I live. He said that the sweat would interfer too much with the absorption of meds. Has anyone used this patch and lives in a hot humid area - love to know its effectiveness! It seems that some people had difficuty maintaining an environment to store the patch. Once it gets too warm then it is hard to apply to the skin.
my DD uses Daytrana and we live in a tropical area. I have found that placing the patch in the freezer for a minute before applying it makes it SO much easier to apply.Thank you - I hoping that when it comes to Australia. my son can go on the trial. Will sweat affect it's ability to stay on?you can always move to sunny melbourne happyrockNo!!!! I start wearing my ugh boots at 20 degrees!!!! Sorry, I'll stay in sunny tropical queenland - sunny one day, perfect the next!!!!!!!!!HI! We live in central Texas and just finished the soccer season. We have always put two bandaides on the ends of the patch just in case. Even during the games or other things we never had a problem with the patch coming off and ds sweats ALOT
