thanks glenn,

my last appt was august and i am still waiting for another one.

i can feel myself going back to my old ways and it is frustrating.i have not been streesed much as scotdaddy is home and jude has been really good the past few weeks.i think i just need to speak to my doc when he decides to send me an appt.

scotmama - you sound terribly anxious!  Do mention all the side effects you are having.  Still I wouldn't obsess and panic as 100 bpm isn't severe as the heart can vary in rate a great deal quite safely.  Now my resting rate and work rate are both higher due to the stimulants I take.  Both are still in my range for age/weight/health.  Blood pressure is more important to watch and cause the actual trouble.

It's totally normal after 4 months or so to have to change amounts of meds.  With me my 10mg dose of dexedrine was good for 3 months then I had to up it to 20mg.  Staying at that now due to my med holidays of 1 week to every 2 months of meds.  Maybe get some help with that from your doc considering the anxiety you're feeling.

Don't be afraid to try different meds or to increase your dose.  Both are perfectly normal and expected as it takes time and experimentation to get things right.

Just stay focused and don't let the obsessive and worrisome thoughts overwhelm you.  I'd highly recommend you talk to a therapist - even if only once every 2 months at least you'll get some tools to help and get reassured you're ok.

MY 4 YEAR OLD HAS ADHD,AND WHEN HE STARTS SCHOOL,HE MAYBE WON'T COPE SO WE MAYBE WILL HAVE TO CONSIDER MEDS.

I WOULD LOVE FOR HIM TO REAP THE BENEFITS THAT I HAD BUT DREAD THE PROBLEMS.

It stopped working for me after about 2 or 3 years and I was taking 72mgs ... I mean the suggested perscriptions are generally made with children in mind ... The reason you have the headache and feel spacey is hte adhd probably as not taking concerta anymore doesn't have that many side effects I don't think ... I'm fairly certain that I just stopped taking mine.  I would recommend asking your doctor about Provigil ... It has way less side effects than strattera (which I found is verryyyy dizzying) and adderall (which can cause permanant tourette's-like tics ... not attractive) ... Provigil isn't in the group of drugs specifically for adhd yet but people do prescribe it ... I've been taking it for a little over year and am VERY happy with it!  It stinks that the drugs can stop working -- I'm scared about what may happen if anything else stops.  have you tried wellbutrin ??  I take it along w/ provigil and it seems to pack enough of a dopamine/norepeniphrine punch to carry me along the day!  (I have taken courses in all these things so it's not all just from personal experience that I am telling you these things, but of course make sure your doctor thinks i'ts okay too ...) ... At the school I taught at we had 2 teachers in a room and my co-teacher began taking provigil after I did and he really found it helped more than adderall for his adhd.  It depends I suppose on which "type" of adhd you have .. I dont mean type A or B .. but, are you the person that gets super tired in the afternoon ... the one who can't sit still ... the one who day dreams etc ... I think it works super well for the tired in the afternoon and the paying attention ... but, give it a shot!  I'm sorry you don't feel well today :(  HOpe you feel better soon!

Ps When I become a psychiatrist I am NOT going to have entire months at a time off, which  so many of them seem to do. Uh, not fair to patients!

i have been noticing my concerta is not working as well as it used to be.

the chemist forgot to order it today so i only had 18mg in the morning and 36mg at 2o'clock.

now i am feeling spacey and i have an headache.

my blood pressure is still a bit high and my pulse per minutes is over 100,doc say it should be about 70.

why, after 4 months,it is now going downhill?????????i am not too sure they go over 54mg,here and the doc mentionned strattera, but he is on holidayand no signs of an appt.

THANKS,I AM THE GET TIRED,MOODY,DAYDREAM TYPE.

I THINK ADDERAL IS NOT AVAILABLE HERE,I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE OTHER ONES.

IT REALLY SUCKS AND IT REALLY WORRIES ME FOR WHEN I HAVE TO MAKE THE DECISION FOR MY SON.

Ask about provigil I think it might really be able to help.  I wish I could say that I understood about your son, but i KNow how it feels when my cats aren't feeling well and I need to do certain things w/ them (one is a special needs cat who basically has only 3 legs and might have to have the 4th taken off at some point :( )
