concerta to adderall | ADHD Information

My son is 10 years old.  He has been on concerta since second grade - now in 5th.  Thought things were OK but that was completely wrong.  Got interim grades and were shocked.  Any how - called dr and will make a change to adderall.  Start at 5 and then go up.  Was on 54 concerta.  Just wondering what to expect. Any help would be great.  We were so lucky with concerta and hope this goes well.

Thanks in advance

My 11 year old son just started adderall xr last week.  Started with 5mg xr in the am and 5 mg xr in the afternoon.  Other than a new found intensity and a decrease in appetite, he's doing much better in school.  I think if you start on a low dosage you'll probably see less side effects.  He just moved to 10 mg in am today and 1o mg in afternoon and actually has been better than on the 5 mg.  He isn't as hyper in the afternoon and is sleeping fine! I  am hoping it works.  I am a little anxious about starting at 5.  I know it is better - but worry that for week in school he will be a night mare.  If they are frustrated now - I can just imagine when he is even less focused.
