Just an absolutely FANTASTIC update. Brandon, who will be nine in december, did fantastic on his six week tests this week. For those of you who don't know me, we have been on Daytrana 20mg for several weeks now. Ds has been having problems in school until just recently. Not just grades but behaviour also. These past few months have been a complete turn around for him. He has been getting yellow smiley faces everyday. He is so PROUD of himself. And that is what this is about you know? Yes, we need them to function and be "socially acceptable", but we also need them to FEEL GOOD ABOUT THEMSELVES. Last six weeks ds made a 48 on his math test and a 74 on his writing. THis week HE made a 90 on his math test and a 94 on his writing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! He said that his teacher hugged him, told him how proud she was, and had tear drops in her eyes. His reading and handwriting are so much better. We are so proud. We have been making a point to tell EVERYONE about his fantastic grades. I KNEW he had it in him.
Sorry this is so long but I feel like we are finally getting somewhere. And that is a huge relief.
We had the same kind of report this grading period for my son as well...and I agree, it is almost better to see the pride and self esteem rise than to see the grades rise.
