both of my kids have had bad days on the bus...and my son isn't adhd. they get on the bus with 3 other adhd kids(that i am aware are adhd). so, counting my daughter, 4 get on at one stop:) :) :) and i don't know some of the other kids or their parents well enough to know if they have a diagnosis or not. we recently had a bus driver change and that is to the better, this driver actually seems to enjoy kids. she is wonderful:) i've spoken to her on several occasions...mainly because my son (nonadhd) is frustrated by a friend on the bus and has shoved her:( the bus driver said she'd put the kids up front if she needs to...or separate those that are having a hard time getting along. last year i drove my kids for a week, i took the bus away-i said riding the bus was a priviledge. i think the noise on the bus is intense...and after a full day of being good at school, some kids lose it on the bus a bit. no seatbelts on the bus doesn't help-from my understanding lots of the kids are moving around quite a bit.
i've been frustrated a bit...a 40 minute ride in the morning is hard for some. i've contemplated driving them every day to avoid hearing the negative bus happenings either by my kids or other kids, but it's a good socialization time too...and they enjoy it for the most part.
i think all buses have their issues...especially if they don't have adults monitoring on them. i know i've talked to some of my friends about our bus issues and they all say the same thing happens on their bus. we live in an area where parents are very involved...all the way around. i just know that i couldn't stand being a bus driver...i made sure the kids presented our bus driver a present during bus driver appreciation week and i already have her christmas present:) :) :) :)

Hi! My daughter hasn't had any problems on the bus (knock on wood) but my older child would tell me for sure if she was misbehaving on the bus. Could your son have an assigned seat on the bus, right in front? Or have an older student kind of watch your son...like being assigned a bus buddy? Just a couple things to think of and to possibly discuss with the school and bus driver. Good luck!
