Hi and welcome. I haven't had dd do neurofeedback. My SIL has done it with her son. She thinks it helps, as long as you don't let them watch TV or do video games. I guess that can undo the brain training? Anyway, at her request, I asked our neuropsychologist about doing neurofeedback, and he said he was against it after reading the research. He didn't think the research really proved neurofeedback lessened ADHD symptoms. Also, it is very $$$$.
p.s. there are some threads on this topic on the Alternatives board.
cr12345mr39025.6340277778My daughter's doctor also recommended against neurofeedback because it is not proven. We were also in a hurry for treatment results becuase my daughter was failing school and had become depressed, anxious and was having some scary rages, so we did not really feel we had time to explore alternatives much (due to the time they can take). A co-worker took his son for neurofeedback after a head injury caused the son to have ADHD like symptoms. It seemed to help but did not last (again, this was a head injury, not true ADHD). vickie39025.6425Anyone? LOL
Hello. We had testing done with a neuropsychologist and we received the diagnosis today. We have ADHD (which was previously diagnosed), Mood Disorder, and a Congitive Disorder. He has recommended doing Nuerofeedback. Has anyone tried this therapy and has it worked? Any suggestions and comments regarding this newer therapy would be appreciated. Thank you.
