bipolar teensI have been trying to figure out if my son has bipolar as well as ADHD. It seems to go hand and hand with one another. The only thing is , is I don't really know what Bi-Polar is and what are the signs I should be looking for. His physc said he was not, but she is no longer in the picture because she wasn't helkping him. I read some stuff on it, but didn't understand to much, if some one can briefly tell me what to look for or what the symptons are I would appreciate it. Thanks again for your help My son has ADHD and Bipolar. He had the same problem as your son he now takes Adderall XR and Risperdal and then Remoron at night It works great. I have a 23 year old friend that was on lithium for bi-polare disorder/and ADHD.I was wondering if anyone tried a omega three's.I found a web site that offers a high EPA & DHA product, and was wondering if anyone has tried or heard of www.n3inc.com Res-Q 1250.I would appericate any replies of some who has tried omega 3's,or have tried this brand. Thanks!! What has your son taken? Is he currently working with a psychiatrist? I know what has helped out son, but you may have tried it already and as you know it all depends on the child. Kind Regards,
I have a 15yr old son who has ADD and bi-polar. He refuses to take medication. It makes him too tired and he doesnt like the way he feels. Yet he has tried marajuana and zanex and seems to like those. Life is hard w/him because he can changed in the blink of an eye. Usually he keeps to himself and his computer. He is either totally stupid happy All of us parents just need to be strong and be there for our children. I believe that things can only get better. I am watching this thread with interest as my son at 7 is considered to maybe have bi-polar, what were your children like at this age?I was misdiagnosed with several depression disorders before getting my correct ADHD diagnoses. Unfortunately for 3 years they tried every kind of depression drug on me. Each one made me sicker and sicker until I finally stopped going to the doctors and got off the meds on my own. It was really hard, the withdrawal was intense but now that they are all out of my system I'm much better. This might not be an option for your son but I am much healthier and happier off the meds than I was on. I still have problems but compared to the hell the depression meds put me through the depression or anxiety I experience now seems like a walk in the park. Unfortunately, taking him off meds all together is not an option. He has violent or self destuctive outbursts when unmedicated. I guess it's just going to be a matter of finding the right one....Does anyone out there have a teen that is bipolar? My 16 yr old son is bipolar and has had a bad run with meds. Trying to find one that won't make him so tired or nauseous. |
