...time tommorow. I have been reading these forums quite often now (3-4 weeks). I was diagnosed with ADD 2 years ago and the doc prescribed me Strattera, I was on it for about 2 months and did not like it all. During the time I was on this, I liked the way it made me concentrate, but it made everything so damn slow. I would be taking a test and only be done with half way through. However, the concentration level was high.
I stopped taking it and have been med free for about 1.5 years. My friend suggested that I talk to a psychiatrist and not a physician. So I found a local psychiatrist through my insurance who "specializes in ADD/ADHD" and I will be visiting her for the first time tommorow.
my current symptoms are: I feel tired/lazy all day, I have the worst testing anxiety, I can't sit and study or read for no more then 20 minutes, I can never accomplish tasks and I try to multi-task way much and I burst out with anger all the time twoards my parents. :(
If anyone could give me some advice on how to talk to a psychiatrist or what to say and what not to say, it would be very helpful. Please understand this is my first time visiting a psychiatrist and I want the right meds prescribed. I have no idea what to expect.
thanks in advance

Take in all of your previous testing and documentation. Make a list of the things that concern you and what your treatment goals are (include the activities and times of day you need to cover). There is a thread with a list of things to ask a new doctor:

It was written for parents, but some of the questions will be helpful for you. You might also post this in the adults with ADD section to get a bit more readership.
