I think my friend has ADHD | ADHD Information

He has REALLY bad mood swings and can't control what he does. I know he never would but some times afraid he will lash out and hit me or one of my friends. Hes really clever and in all top groups and is very good at music. Some times we can joke with him but the other day a girl kept kicking at his chair and in the end he rocketed and nearly stormed out. Teacher had to quickly calm him down. Ive heard that it can continue through adulthood and get worse and worse. AS he is only 14 now i am really worried that he will get progressively worse. I dont want him to have to live like this as he is one of my best friends even though sometimes he will go in a mood with me for no reason. Recently people have been making fun of the amount that he eats and my friend has told me that he now has stopped eating as much and hardly eats much on the bus although he may eat more out of school.

HELP! IS this ADHD?

The behavior
you describe in your friend are not symptomatic of ADHD. However, your friend has some serious issues going on that really need to be addressed and only a doctor can determine what your his problems are and why he exhibits such behaviors. Perhaps you should speak with his parents about your concerns as your friends behavior suggests that he is seriously crying out for help. Good luck.

but my teacher was talking about disorders and he said the men... when they get ADD or ADHD that they tend to be more violent.

Your teacher is not a phychiatrist and his assessment of ADHD is wrong. Violent behavior is not a trait of ADHD, whether it be a man or a woman. A teacher like that should stick to teaching academics as they have a degree in teaching, not a degree in childhood disorders.

I don't know much about ADHD but my teacher was talking about disorders and he said the men... when they get ADD or ADHD that they tend to be more violent. Dont take much advice from me cuz im not always sure but this is what my teacher said. There are a few websites you can visit to figure more out. when i reallized i had ADD i looked up a website like www.addvance.com
it helped me. hope this helps you
