can someone tell me the size of a concerta tablet? what candy would be a similar size? smaller than an plain M&M?
shelley
A tic-tack is about the same as an 18mg concerta.
NOTE: Tablets may not appear actual size.
YYYAAAYYYY I am so glad she took it. My daughter is young so I worried about her taking the pills and she does have some trouble so we stick it in her food, like bread or something like that and she swallows it right down.
Tell your daughter great job.
. Finally at 8:10 she comes to me & says she needed to tell me something. I said the only was I wanted to talk was if she would just take the pill. Holy Moly she actually agreed to try.......SHE DID IT ON HER FIRST TRY
!!! She then got all excited & started jumping up & down, then said "oh, mom; all that crying over nothing!!!" Now I keep my fingers crossed to see how the day goes......I have a headache already, cuz I am sooo ready for her to be all right!

Hoping for good results for your daughter....
I am so glad she got it! I have been fortunate in that department, the only one of mine that had issues with swallowing pills is the oldest, and she STILL has some trouble, but can do it.
Did she have school today? I have my fingers crossed for her (and you). Be sure to let us know how it went, but don't get too discouraged if it is not a perfect day. Chase was markedly better the first day, but continued to improve over the course of the next weeks as the dosages increased to the final amount.
Good luck!
i checked into the pill cup that was mentioned on another thread this past week. it looked like it ran around o. has anyone had any luck with one of them?

Glad she finally got the pill down! I hope her day goes really well!!
I was surprised when my daughter (age 6) was able to swallow her pill. She even does it without water now too!
I think that I bought one at a pharmacy when my oldest was younger...don't remember what I paid, but it couldn't have been much, or i would've passed. I think it helped her to swallow pills, but I really can't remember...chasesbigsis? Do you remember?
I am not sure what type of pill Concerta is, but my son is on Focalin XR (long release) and we break them open and put them in his food. We most often sprinkles it over applesauce and it works fantastic.
I usually give my son's Focalin xr the same way HisWife does for her son. Today, I stupidally thought since he swallowed gum the other day that he could do the same with this pill. Wrong.
I guess I'm back to opening it up again.
