My 13 year old son has high functioning autism and Adhd. I'm trying everything I can to help him at present as he seems to be ging backwards. He wasn't funtioning at school - depressed, anxious and withdrawn - hating everyone! I'm at a loss to try to help him. Pre-meds he had a IQ of 100 (average) with above average in visual tasks and below average in verbal tasks. Our high school (year 8) begins after Christmas and I can't see him coping. The psychiatrist seems to think him hiding at home what he needs - I'm so scared he's not going forwards - just backwards.
Any words of wisdom, someone who shares problem or been there done that?
I don't know enough about autism to help you but just know that I will be praying for you and your son. My heart goes out to you.
