Do Add meds help with depression | ADHD Information

My daughter developed anxiety and depression because of failure in school and a huge frustration that she had built up because of her ADHD. This started to fade during the summer, but really went away once she started concerta. I think the concerta helps with the ADHD symptoms that make it hard to cope with school, family and friends. I think if the depressive feelings are a direct result of the ADHD affect on you daily life and poor coping stratagies, taking care of the ADHD symptoms can alleviate the depressive feelings. Just my opinion watching my daughter. I called my Dr  and he wanted me to get off of it. I was trying to find out if the ADD meds are also used for depression.I am new to being medicated and so I have been searching everywhere for info about different meds, the benefits, side effect e.t.c....   I have been diagnoised a few years back of being depressed (still don't think I am) but anyways do these meds, help with depression?   I know for myself I have been on strattera for about 8 days and then I was switched to Concerta I have been taking it for 5 days now. I am spunkier, I am able to face tough stressful situations with a smile on my face, I can't say that it has helped with my racing mind as of yet. It must be doing somethin, I have an overall feeling of wellness, happyness, and the drive to keep going. Life is once good again
