Hello everyone
I have been reading up on NLD and I recognise myself really well in the NLD profile. I was wondering whether other people with ADD recognise themselves in this? It is especially linked to bad visual memory, bad sense of direction, bad motor skills, sensitivity in the senses...
Quite a bit seems to overlap with ADD anyhow, just the added visual-spatial problems and motor problems...
Does anyone know more on this subject?
thx
What does NLD stand for. I have never heard of this, but from the little that you have described sounds like some of the same things I suffer from. When passing someone, I get almost clumbsy about which side to pass them on. I don't have the greatest motor skills, my sense of touch in my finger tips suck and my sense of direction is also less than adequate.

Hello, Darlene, It stands for Non Verbal Learning disability. Interesting you recognise some of this too, so I'm not the only one!
It affects motoric stuff, visual-spatial organizational stff, social interaction and social judgment, and sensory stuff....
I have been told that I have ADHD, but I really recognise myself especially in the visual-spatial stuff connected to NLD. And as far as I understand not everyone with adhd suffers from visual-spatial problems..... Not sure if it is worth getting a diagnosis at my age though, probably just continue struggling.
ADHD seems to have so many other possible disorders to ride along with it. My daughter has ADD, along with a mild Tourettes syndrome. I guess as long as we are getting along ok in life, we may just count our blessings and look on the bright side. With all our flaws, we also probably have many great qualities! Good luck!
