Well, we're trying yet another med tomorrow for dd. She is all the way up to 50mg Ritalin LA, but when I was in her classroom yesterday, she was hyperfocusing on picking at her fingernails again. This has been going on since the beginning of the school year. I am so exasperated. So we are giving her meds to be able to pay attention, only she chooses to pay attention to her fingers! Her developmental ped is prescribing Tenex (guanfacine). I'm not really hopeful about this, but we may as well try it. She actually has tried it before when she was 2, but it just put her to sleep. We are also going to dial back the Ritalin LA to 30 mg.Good luck with this new med
