Tooth Fairy Screw Up!!!!!!!!Argh! | ADHD Information
Well s**t! I totally screwed up this time! My 7 yr olds crying because she lost a tooth last night and guess who forgot to come? ME AKA--The Tooth Fairy! I feel horrible, she thinks it's because she did something bad. I'm crying, she's crying. I gotta find a way to fix this one!Leave her a note tonight from the toothfairy. Do it on cute like pink paper with glitter, but type it in a fun font so she doens't recognize your handwriting, and jsut tell her sorry that she missed her last night. She had a fairy conference to be at and that kept her from being there. It worked for my mom when she forgot with us kids :)I've done this too! But I slipped a dollar under the bed, and then said,"oh look what I found! You must have knocked it on the floor while you were sleeping!"
I've forgotten nearly every time my son lost a tooth. I do the same as Daffodil.
My son and I go on a hunt to see where the tooth fairy left it or it might have been knocked to. The last time he caught on and informed me he had already looked where I found it but I convinced him that moving things around while we were looking untangled it.
Thanks-Luckily she came up with a good reason on her own! I love the little note idea, but my printers out of ink, and I had thought of he ol' switcheroo but the toothfairy here always takes the teeth. I had tried coming up with all kinds of things like she broke a wing or since it's somewhat the holiday season all of the fairies and elves and spirits and things are really busy. Finally she said "You didn't get to see my tooth before I put under the pillow, and I wished you would have, so I guess the tooth fairy just granted my wish." Whoo!! Thank God for that one--She left for school in a happy mood. Sad though--She got stuck with a tooth fairy that has ADD!psychgirl--I don't have ADD and I have done this before! Relax, give yourself a break, your kid will take her cues from you. If it happens again, just say "Oh bummer, the Tooth Fairy must have been REALLY busy last night and her tooth bag got too heavy to carry--it happens, I'm sure she'll be by tonight" and then MAKE SURE you remember the next night! I know you feel bad, but it's not like missing a birthday or Christmas or anything irreversible! Don't be so hard on yourself girl!PS I've done disguised handwritten notes from the Tooth Fairy, Santa, Easter Bunny, etc for years--you don't need your printer!
I used to do this all the time, luckily my 13 yr old is outta that stage!!! My 9 year old still has some teeth to go!!
I used to tell my kids that the tooth fairy mustave had a heck of a night and a lot of kids lost their teeth, she was weighed down and couldn't carry anymore. She would come in the next couple of nights!!! They always seemed content with that explanation.
Hahahahahaha!!!!!
Well, at least you see that you're not alone, psychgirl!
I have forgotten with my daughter several times. I usually tell her that her room must have been too messy, and that the tooth fairy couldn't find her way in! She usually says, "Oh, yeah!", and immediately goes to clean her room. I feel bad about forgetting, but it is a good way to get her to clean it! Recently, she lost two teeth in a week. Her room was such a mess that the tooth fairy had visited twice before she realized it! I gently told her that maybe if she cleaned her room, she might find that the tooth fairy money. Sure enough, she found it!
i did it a couple of weeks ago but my daughter is 10 so she just looked at me and said"i guess the toothfairy meds have worn off by that time"
