Daytrana patch | ADHD Information
Has anyone tried this patch? My son is 10. Has inattentive ADD--not hyper at all.
He will be on 10 mg. We are afraid of side effects. Anyone with experience with this patch?

DD has been on 20mgs for several months, and was involved in the med trials also. So far no side effects at all.none.not even the typical rash.edbson,
How old is your DD?
my son is 10 (in a couple days) he is 71 lbs.
he had horrible side effects on Adderal so we quit meds. 1 1/2 yrs. ago.
we are hoping for better luck with Daytrana.
My son is 13, 105lbs and we've been using 30mg daytrana patches since right before school started. It's been terrific. No rebound at all because of the the rate which the bloodstream sheds it after you take it off. I would recommend that you try it. You can always stop if you see side effects you don't like.
My dd is 9, we use 20mgs daytrana patch on school days only
Have you read the Daytrana anyone? thread? There is lots and lots of info.
My DS is nine, sixty pounds and on twenty mg a day. We have had fantastic results with behaviour and grades. The only side effects is the redness on the skin which is usually gone with diaper rash ointment. Daytrana has been a GOD send for our family but most importantly for my son. He is confident!
Please keep in mind that most of us have been through MANY different meds, all with different results and side effects. Each child experiences things on their own. Unfortunately each med is like a trial. Good luck to you!
My 8 year old dd has been on Daytrana for 6 weeks now. It does take at least 2 hours for it to kick in for her. She takes a 5 mg focalin tablet with it in the morning which does the trick. HTHwe have used it for 5 days now.
My son is 10 (today) and 70 lbs.
So far so good. no side effects and he likes it! He hated adderal--too many side effects and he couldn't swallow pills.
It will be interesting to hear what the teachers says this week.
He is only on 10 mg. and that seems enough for him
I have a question: How long does it take for the Daytrana to start working? I have heard 2 hours, but I wonder if that is really what happens.
We don't have it in Canada, but I am curious.
