It's hard to deny reality when you've taken the test.
I've taken it 3 or 4 times now, and fluctuate between 45 - 50.
I always wanted to be at the top of the class...

Well, actually, those online tests are not tests in the professional sense, although some use questions extracted from genuine psychometric measures. There is no specific single measure that conclusively diagnoses ADD/ADHD. In part, this is because the symptoms and the combination of them can be very unique to each individual and manifest in different ways. Instead, a battery of tests are usually used, specifically to compare the individual's ability and achievement. With that information (assuming its a significant discrepancy), they look (or should, if they are following professional protocol) at the individual's description of their problems, and possibly tests that may rule out or confirm the existence of comorbid disorders or disorders which have similar symptoms. Ideally, the diagnosis is based on several pieces of evidence, not a single test.

But there are tests they do for ADHD.
Maybe not blood or urine tests (hey rayray: show doc how you piss all over the place, that'll prove it to him! the piss test... doesn't work so good for the female types.), but there are psych evals for ADHD. There's one on WebMD somewhere, but I lost it. I'll look around my messy harddrive for it.
I am newly diagnosed by a physcologist. I did the CAT-3 tests, went over my history and had my thyroid tested. I did the on-line tests and all of them came back that I needed to see a professional! On my Cat 3 test I scored a 99% in ALL 3 catergories in my present life as well as my childhood! So if you score high on an on-line test being honest (I also had my husband score how he saw me) then you should be professionally tested. I am so relieved to know that I am NOT crazy or incompitent!
If you really think you got it, you probably do and you will feel better at least knowing and figuring out what your next move is. Good Luck.
Wow! Whoa.

have doc ride in ur messy car, to a cluttered house, sort through your drawers, fridge garage, balance your checkbook, look at your tax returns, career hist etc...
drive back doc to his office & then ask him if you have add
There is a "test" that they do for ADHD. I don't know what exactly it entails, but I do know that it is expensive (I thought I was told it could cost up to a couple THOUSAND dollar YIPES!) and most insurances don't cover it.
The suggestion I had from the hospital that performs this "test" was to visit my "family doctor" and discuss sympotms with him. He can perscribe the meds for ADHD with or without this expensive "test".
And since ADHD is only a problem in certain situations....even if you have it. It doesn't necessarily mean you wish to be treated for it. As I have said to many people.
"We medicate kids because they can't sit still in class and learn the way we want to teach them. We call them "abnormal" and drug them to fit the 'mold' we have created.
Likewise, if there were a playground full of kids being wild and energetic, but one or two little boys were ignoring this, and sitting quietly reading a book on the park bench. We wouldn't drug them so they could "fit in", would we."
The answer to your question, though: I was givin a Behavioral Assesment form by my doctor. My wife and I were to fill it out and bring it back. The doctor then evaluated my answers to decide wether or not I had symptoms in line with an ADHD diagnosis.
Upon that diagnosis, remains the question: "Do you need to be medicated to deal with the symptoms?". Then additional questions in relation to that. Do you need medication at home or just at work? Do you need it on the weekends? etc.

Are you or someone you know unfocused, disorganized, and unable to finish things? At any age, this may indicate the presence of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or ADHD. Here's your chance to learn more about this condition -- and the problems it can cause if left untreated.
How much do you know about ADHD?
Actually there is no one test for AD/HD it's diagnosed by signs and symptoms. Different Diagnosticians use different tools to help make the diagnosis. livingwithadd39049.697349537
was that your fault?
