My son has been expelled from Mainstream school at the age of six, it has taken us a while but we have finally got him into a school just for adhd children,we went for a look round yesterday and i was very impressed,It's a shame there is not more schools like this all over the world. There are only 2 other children at the school who are under 7 quite a few over but at maximum capacity there are only 56 places.I have posted a link to the schools site so you can all have a look, he said he didnt want to go yesterday but I am sure he will get used to it.Obviously most adhd children can benefit from mainstream though we have never found a medication to let him stay in one.He will have play therapy and there is an occupational therapist based there as well as light therapy. They all have the patience of saints and seem to know how to really speak to the children without getting cross. They only have 3 rules. He will get taken there in a taxi and brought home as it is over 3 miles from where i live. How many more children would benefit from schools like this!

Looks like a wonderful school. I hope he achieves the success he deserves
Being kicked out of regular school that young may just be a blessing in disguise. He is going to fit right in now and that in itself is so good for his self esteem.
Yeah that's what I think. I really think he is going to fly at this new school. My son wasn't kicked out but I removed him anyway, I could just see it was going nowhere. Our kids need people who are on their team, not fighting and judging them (and us).
This sounds good. A bit like the school where my 6yo is going to start next year. They also hve physiotherapy and OT where they are and the classes are small, only about 7 in the class. Which is great for what he needs as he is inattentive. They have school buses which do the rounds as it is quite far too. My boy also has a few jitters, especially about the bus but we will go with him the first few times and he will be great there. It's also the only public school that he will possibly get into. He is not ready to mainstream yet and there are no other schools closer that will take him.
What is light therapy?
I'm so glad you've found a school that looks good for Cameron. I'm sure he's going to respond incredibly well to people who understand him better and don't judge him. When does he start? Tell him we will all be thinking of him.
I AM HAPPY FOR YOU HE FINALLY GOT A NEW SCHOOL,IT WILL MAKE IT EASIER ON YOU AND YOUR OTHER KIDS.that sounds like a great school...keep us posted!
