For actual live chat the only one really out there is on Yahoo. There are a few ADD chats that pop up occasionally but usually only an hour a day and they don't have that many people in them. Yahoo has an ADD chat in the health section which I use all the time. Always lots of people in there to talk to. I'm usually in late night/early am since I don't sleep and still find many to chat with at that hour. Sometimes we get silly and we get off topic easily (LOL we're all ADDers.) So if you're new and join the room don't be scared away or put off if people are talking about nonsense. If you get our attention and ask a question everyone will be more then willing to help out. It's a really friendly group and if you hang around long enough you can make some good online friends through this support room.

I was diagnosed years ago for Bi polar and now after lots of research Im thinking its Adult ADD....

So the other day I took one of my sons Ritalin pills and everything came into focus...

Your thoughts?

I have a brother who is ADD and one day I realized that I had a lot of his behaviors...that was my path....

Then when I was put on Wellbutrin for depression, the ADD symptoms became controllable.

Thats how it all started with me ... getting my son diagnosed and one day he said I was unfair to give him the tabs when I dont know what they do ? I thought he was right so took 1 .. while ironing ( I HATE ironing BIG time) and the next think I was finished and all in the right pile .. phew .. So thats when I looked into me having ADHD .... I was watching my son this morning put on his shoes and he seemed to be having a fit doing it. So I watched myself.. I was lost in a million places in my mind.. We had to take him to the Dr. and this interupted my schedule BANG i was off the deep end. Angry upset out of breath, confused and just lost..

Ihave also found myself reading the ends of sentences in books before the beginnings.

I would just like to say you sound like a super mum, I am a mum of 2 ADHD kids so i know what its like ..

Ok lets be honest going to the Drs is enough to send anyone loopy. I find it stressfull because my old GP retired ( boo hoo ) and I am having to train some new ones on ADHD .. !!!

Hi D I went to GPs and put me on Ritalin not for ADHD but ( my hubby is still laughing at this) for low sex drive !!!. I was happy on it for about 2 years when 1 of the top Gps in the practice (she does not believe in ADHD) said if I was not diagnosed they would not prescribe it?? She once summoned me in and told me she had decided to over rule the kids specialist and taking my son off his meds. At the time he had bipolar depression and ADHD .. I told her no way and thats why we go to a specialist, my kids were outside and she went to get them .. I politely told her she would never see my kids and she is so dangerous I would not let her see my DOGS. P.S a funny story with this GP was they forgot ( ha ha ) to order my sons meds . So I warned the receptionist ( who is fab) ans she removed all important stuff .And we sat and waited .. my son off ritalin was interesting.. funny after 1hr she came and asked why I was letting my son run riot !! said I was waiting fot ritalin( with a smile ) she suggested I take him home .. I said is there a problem with him off meds ? she glared at me and went back to work. We were there for about 4 hours and guess what they found his meds!!! funny that .. then asked me to leave .. told them to wait half an hour .. she watch him and saw the difference ... still dont see her .. but she keeps her distance from me .. sorry to go on a bit .. lol moon6
