What's your daily dose.... 60 mg?? if so, that seems reallyhigh to start...even 40 mg. sounds high to start to me, but I'm not a doctor.
I felt my heart a lot when I started on Adderall (immediate release). And I felt my heart race too, when exercising and even when not. Those side effects diminished over time. I find that the extended release form (Adderall xr) has much diminished side effects on heart rate, rebound, all that stuff so I pretty much stick to the xr. (40 mg/day)
I started out taking 10 mg twice a day for maybe 2 weeks until I was able to get in to the psychiatrist. At that time I realy didn't feel any extra ablility to focus. I did feel seem to feel somewhat calm. On the weekend I tried 1 1/2 in the morning and I felt like I was able to deal with things that needed to be done while playing with my kids at the same time without as much stress and frustration. It never felt like my heart at was racing, but I did seem to notice my heart beat at the point it was starting to ware off.
The psychiatrist change my dosage from 10 to 20mg. The said the first two days take 2 pills 3x a day every 4 hrs. After the first two days cut to 1 1/2 pills 3x day. Now I can definitely tell when the 4 hrs are up. The doctor said to do this because he wanted me to be only half "empty" rather than "completely empty" before taking them again. I won't see him again until the end of the month.
BTY: This is the regular release meds.
I also notice my heart rate can accelerate (after climbing stairs). Not sure if it is the meds or me out of shape. I may just be super focused on my heart and they may have been happening all the time prior.
Does anyone else feel anything in their heart at any time?
Also, after reading several of the post, the current dosage sure sounds high.
