That test doesn't work.
I couldn't read a word on the visual distractions test, but I answered all the questions correctly.
Why? B/c I'm ADHD, and in a multiple choice question, the correct answer is there! It was just a matter of connecting the dots, which ADHDers are good at.
Activity: Focusing
Question 1
Your answer: C -- That is the correct answer.
Question 2
Your answer: D -- That is the correct answer.
Question 3
Your answer: A -- That is the correct answer.
You answered all of the questions correctly! That wasn't so bad, right? But what if this had been a more complex passage or a mathematical word problem instead? And what if, along with an attention deficit, you also had a reading disability? For many children learning problems come not in isolation but in groups, compounding the difficulties they face in school every day.
The auditory one sucked. I couldn't do it 3 tries.
Those kids need to shut up.

I couldn't get the video one to work.
OMG!...Maybe I'm ADHD!!!

on the visual distractions, I had lots of trouble reading the words although I saw words. I did get them all right mainly because I remembered some words but not whole ideas and some good problem solving guessing on multiple choice.
I two wrong on the auditory each time and I think being an interpreter really helps me focus on the words. I'm not an auditory learner and sound things are really hard for me, so I find it interesting that I am able to interpret altho 20+ years ago it was way too challenging.
I totally sucked at the auditory one and got 2/3 for visual distractions. No wonder my oldest comes home and chucks tantrums. (some days)I am planning on home schooling my child too if the next year or two go as bad as the past couple. These teachers and the school system Pi$$ me off!!!!!!
My son does wonderful at home with homework and no distractions.
That is very frustrating-no wonder my son comes home grumpy sometimes. As one of the above poster said "those kids need to shut up"My son is ADHD.
He was doing horribly in school, even with meds.
So we home schooled him from 5th grade on.
He PASSED the senior exit exam at the end of his sophmore year.
His senior year he needed only 4 classes for enough units, so he snowboarded 125 days in between classes.
Remove the distractions, and he flourished.
ADHD managment is not only chemical, but environmental, as well.
Wow! What a great story. that's fantastic! He is so lucky to have you. Great example. thanks for sharing.
