When I worked at Head Start, I carried insurance that cost me about 1/3 of my pay (biweekly).....about 0. a month. The copays were at the end of my employment there. At the yearly meetings, people used to complain and complain of the cost, but just try to afford anything with a decent copay on your own, and you become instatnly grateful for employer assisted health care costs!
We pay 0. a month for major medical with a 00. deductible!!! No copay at the dr office and minimal (Concerta 54 was 8. cash price and 0. AFTER our discount insurance prescription card, WOO WOO!!!) prescription coverage.
I pay for name brands and for generics. We pay for Focalin xr and an additional for the simple Focalin. Because the med is so new and there are no generics, we are paying quite a bit.
We decided if it works, it is worth it, though.
HisWife39085.4641898148Hey Teresa! That link brought me to the website, but not a page that specifically said that. It actually gave me an error. I did get some good links from it though. Can you find that specific page again and let me know what heading it was under?
Thanks!!!
There are patient assistance program offered through the medicine companies, but only for the people that do not have prescription coverage either through private ins. or medicaid. As I understand it, if you have prescription coverage, but the particular med isn't on your insurance list, they may still give you assistance.
We used a plan thru Eli Lilly before our ins coverage went into effect. They mailed dd's prescription(straterra) to us monthly, and it cost me . Now our insurance co-pay is for generic, and for name brand. I make sure I get them at target, because my oldest dd works there so we get a 15% discount off the co-pay.works out nicely for me.
When we first tried alternatives they were WAY WAy more expensive than any prescription I had ever paid for!
I dont know where you live but I just found out at www.ed.gov/parents/needs/speced/lepguide/index.html that united states individualized program states that your childs iep and the state has to cover the cost of medical and prescriptions if your child has a learning disability. Read up!
