Beta Blockers | ADHD Information

I used Toprol XL to treat my heart arrhythemia in combination with Strattera. (The arrhythemia was not from the strattera, just made worse by it though) The Toprol worked fairly well in knocking my heart rate down a good 30 beats per minute, which for me unfortunately wasn't enough. I also ended up with a fair bit of breakthrough heart racing and went onto a calcium channel blocker, which has worked wonderfully.  If the stimulant meds are causing heart problems maybe you should look at something else? Over time, your heart muscle can weaken from a heightened pulse/blood pressure, so this really isn't a side effect one can ignore!  adderall etc is an amphetamine and can increase blood pressure and pulse rate. Beta blockers are used to reduce the negative side effects. Often your better using different medication that is not containdicated for your current health

Inderal and Ritalin.

Inderal was to control my bp wh/ had been spiked by an anti-D.

I noticed no negative reactions with the combination.

When I went off the Effexor, I no longer needed the Inderal.

When I quit using the inderal, I did notice an increase in tension, but it may have been the lack of the Effexor.

Is anyone here using or have used a beta-blocker(such as propranolol, nadolol, atenolol, and others..) in combination with a stimulant drug to treat insomnia, heart palpitations, or anxiety?
