tryin meds again | ADHD Information

My son is 15, with a long history of ADHD.  over the years we have tried several medications, both stimulant and non with either bad side effects (increased anxiety and impulsiveness) or no effect.  It has been almost two yers since we tried any and now that he is in high school and failing, we are thinking of trying again.  Any suggestions?

Many people have had success with stimulants and Tenex to augment the stimulant...the stims help with focus and school work and somewhat with the impulsiveness, and the Tenex (guanfacine) helps more with anxiety and impulsiveness and also aids in sleep and weight issues.

You might want to ask your doctor about adding the tenex and see if that helps with the added anxiety the stims cause...
