Is this for all branches?  My son is interested in the Coast Guard.

Thanks

From what I was told, yes it is for all branches.  But, you can call your local recruiting office and ask them.  I would any way that way your son will be totally prepared for any thing that is required of him.  Good for him that he knows what he wants to do!

Hay, Welcome to the board!!!

My ds is 13 and has not been diagnosed ADD or ADHD, although it has been suggested twice at school that he has attention issues that I might want to "look into with my physician."

Problem is, I've heard that they won't consider you for the military if you have been on any ADD drugs after age 13. Does anyone have the straight answers on that?

ivanhoe, that is not true.  I wish you would stop spamming this board with false information that you have NO idea about.

I have called my local recruiting office and the officer told me that any one that wishes to join the military has to be stimulant free for 365 days.  With that information, I wondered if it was a "local issue" so I called another office in a different state and was given the same information.  So, the truth is 1 year medication/stimulant free.

Ivanhoe does not know what she/he is talking about.  do your home work, before answering a question next time.  You have spammed all over this forum and people are not very appreciative of information that is incorrect.

ogram is 100% correct.  My older brother had to stop taking his meds for 1 year and they let him join.  Once he got in and made though basic training and job training he was able to get back on the meds.

that is correct ORGRAM is correct a person needs to be able to stay off meds, adn be clean for a year to be able to join..
