Discuss this with your doctor. If the symptoms that you are taking an antidepressent for are secondary to dealing with issues caused by ADHD, then the antidepressant may no longer be needed. Anti depressants can have benefit for some ADHD symptoms and are sometimes prescribed for ADHD (when other meds fail), so removing the antidepressant may require adjustment of the ADHD med.
If you and your doctor feel that the depression is a primary disorder (not caused by the ADHD) then removing the antidepressant while on a stim can increase anxiety.
It is all worth discussing with the doctor and you should be closely monitored if you and the doctor decide to wean you off the antidepressant.
Good luck with finding an optimal treatment for your sitiuation.
Is there anybody here who was able to quit their antidepressant once you were diagnosed with ADD and found the right ADD meds?
I've been on an antidepressant for years and am wondering if I found the right ADD medicine if I can stop taking the antidepressant.
I just don't like having to take a lot of meds and hope to get off the antidepressant some day.
