ADHD and "reading people" | ADHD Information
I get this type of feeling very often with people... I HAVE to ask around and see the results that I get hahaha. Well, here goes nothing...
When I meet someone for the first time and speak with them for anywhere from 2 minutes to 45 minutes I figure something out. About 95% of the time I get this feeling for whatever reason. This feeling informs me if the person I am just meeting for the first time has ever been through heavy emotional trauma. It may have been death of a family member, depression, parting with a loved one, etc... But I almost can sense this about people. For whatever reason this gut feeling I get tells me, "hey, this person went through some serious emotional battles throughout their life, but they have bounced back."I usually can't tell when a joke is about me or not either. I also have a very hard time analyzing myself through how most people might view me. For some reason I seem to be able to do it to others though, weird thing about it is.... I don't try to analyze them, stuff like this just comes in the middle of a conversation as a gut feeling.
IVE READ OTHER PEOPLES POST WHO CAN ALSO SENSE THINGS ABOUT PEOPLE THEY MEET FOR THE FIRST TIME
THIS NEVER HAPPENS TO ME, IM NOT VERY GOOD AT READING PEOPLE, AND USUALY GET IT WRONG IF I DO.
IM ALWAYS TO TRUSTY WITH PEOPLE, AND CAN NEVER TELL WHEN THE JOKE IS ON ME OR IF SOME ONE IS TAKING THE PISS. IM SUCH A MUPPET
what do you mean "I also have a very hard time analyzing myself through how most people might view me."
i always think im been judged by people i meet, i always wonder what there thinging about me, and at the same time, depending who it is, im trying to keep a check on my self ( keep still, stop sharking, dont interupt, keep looking at them) even when im driving i think the car behind me is watching how i drive
is this what you mean?
I am very much so like you in regaurds to what you just mentioned. I was kind of on a related thing, but only kind of related hahaha.... if that makes any sense...
For me, when I am talking to someone, I can tell when they are nervous, scared, comfortable, etc... I don't know why but it comes really easy to me. When I start to think about "Does this person think I am nervous, or acting shy, or weird?" I have no idea what they are thinking about me... absolutely no idea hahaha.
What you are describing gets to me all the time, mainly just in social situations though. I will be talking to someone and at the same time telling myself, "Don't figit as much, relax, look them in the eye, pay attention..."
