Lexapro | ADHD Information

Hi, maybe you could try eating a lot of the foods that can be converted into serotonin, like milk, turkey, etc. I don't know if that would be enough to help, but if you don't want the Lexapro, you could give that a try first. I know that chocolate milk really helps my son when he seems low on serotonin. It can't hurt, and who knows, it might help!Hey, Yes I have indeed been on this combo. You say you're scared about with-drawl symptoms after stopping lexepro. DONT WORRY ABOUT THAT! if you don't have with-drawl problems with adderall then you shouldn't with lexepro. However, let me tell you, At first, (2 weeks) you will hardly notice that adderall is in your system. Almost like it blocks the effects. But after a while you will get used to it and it helps a BUNCH with anxiety. I'm not on the combo anymore, but i would at least try it especially if your Neurologist recommended this.I was diagnosed with ADHD - inattentive type last summer at age 32. I started on Adderall in July, which initially helped enormously. Then I started having really bad anxiety attacks/severe depression. So I cut my dose in half from 20mg 2x/day to 10 mg 2x/day, which definitely helped alot. I recently saw my neurologist and she recommended that I may have a co-morbid anxiety disorder (not the first time this has been suggested to me) and that the adderall can aggravate it by causing an imbalance between dopamine and serotonin levels. She recommended that I try and SSRI to increase my serotonin levels and gave me some samples of Lexapro. I'm supposed to start them on Monday, but I am super scared because I have read so much about side effects, especially weight gain and withdrawal symptoms if I forget to take it (more like when I forget to take it).

Has anyone here been on that particular drug combo? I'm wondering if the side effects are the same for ADHDers as for non-ADHDers and if the Adderall has any influence. Nothing I have read has been from anyone who was also on Adderall, so I don't know if those concerns apply to me.

HELP! I really just want to start to feel better, this has been the worst semester of my entire life. I had no idea my body could produce so many tears and never run dry.
Hi.  I have been taking lexapro since August and I think it is just wonderful.  I feel so much better now, and happier, and more able to cope.  I recently invested in one of those 7-day pill boxes to help me to remember my meds.   I felt like an old granny when I bought it, but it works!
