tenex side affect question | ADHD Information

I would call the dr back and tell him of the new(possible) side effect...my ped said that I should watch for dizziness and nausea...which we have not seen.  Chase had a tummy ache high in his stomach, up under his ribs the first day, but it was probably unrelated...he has not had a problem since...

I actually think I see some improvement..he came up with a possible solution to a spat with Jake the other night, instead of screaming at him, then when Jake didn't go for Chase's idea...he calmly came to me for assistance..again instead of screaming and telling me after I came to investigate, and that is a big deal....

And this could be a coincidence..but he has gotten up with his alarm clock 3 mornings in a row...the 3 mornings since beginning this med...and he never could manage that before.  If he DID manage to get up with the alarm, it was sporadic, and the alarm would have to go off loudly for minutes before he heard it...

I agree with chasesmom about calling the doctor. Is he taking the med AM or PM? You might even have to further divide the dose for AM and PM until he gets used to it (spread it out more). If his arms are small (and you can't use your adult bp cuff on him), I would get the ped bp monitor just to have peace of mind. My daughter had no side effects so I did not monitor her.

Ok, we have been on the tenex since Saturday, he did not do well in school mon, tues, wed, Thursday was better, but he is complaining of his head thumping.. or that he hears his blood rushing.. I talked to the dr. yesterday and he wanted me to up the dose, this was before Nate came home and told me his head was thumping.. Any one else's children talk of this? Do you all use a ped blood pressure kit? I have an adult one, but not a kids one..
