Am I going crazy?? | ADHD Information
Hello guys, I'm new here and after searching for hours on the net for a good ADD forum I settled on this one.
I have come to a point where I'm wondering if I'm slowly going crazy, I've always been "spacy" my mind wandered a lot ever since I can remember, people always screaming my name or snapping their fingers at me in frustration. I have moved different places, cities (even countries!) more than anyone I know, I switch jobs (I always have some justifiable excuse), I start so many projects I believe in and am excited about and hardly ever finish just one, I tend to feel tired no matter how much sleep I get, and very "sluggish", but what's bothering me even more than my chronic procrastination with things is my recent memory problems and back to back losing items, misplacing things. I feel like my mind is playing tricks on me. I am SO frustrated I could scream. I feel like I'm a pretty rational realistic person, (I'm NOT hyper though) but I don't know what is going on. I have not been "diagnosed" ADD mainly because my Dr thinks it's all rubbish, and I just need to exercise and eat better (which is partially true) but now that I'm a mother I want to take some serious action with my life. I can NOT live like this anymore. I really don't know where to begin.
Oh, not to start an argument or anything (after reading another post) there IS a connection between Yeast Overgrowth and ADD, If you read the Yeast Connection by William Crook (groundbreaking book) he talks about this very candidly. I'm not saying everyone with ADD/ADHD has a connection with Y/O but most people with Y/O also have ADD/ADHD.
The symptoms are below.
Anyways, I'd love some feedback or please share your story if you feel it will help me. I'm glad I've found this site.
Poor
attention Hyperactivity Anger
Mood
swings Irritability
"Spaciness"
Inappropriate behavior (such as making odd noises, or talking very
loudly)
Memory
problems
Note- I don't want to argue about the Yeast/Candida thing, but if you want to debate me on it, please research it first. Thanks.
ADD is not "rubbish" (allthough the scientist don't know the cause), you should see another doctor. We can't give you a diagnosis, of course, but you'r description sounds a lot like the typical symptoms of ADD. :)
Thankyou qvasi for your reply.
I just got this book from the library called HEALING ADD by Dr Daniel Amen, he says there are 6 different types (I seem like Type 2) and he is a brain scan specialist and in his book shows how ADD/ADHD brains are different than non ADD brains. He claims this is what causes it via Genetics (He says there is RARELY a one ADD person family, it is usually clusters of family members all with similar behaviors. And in addition to this he mentioned having some brain injury (some people), or other connected disorders such as candida imbalance, dietary problems (FOOD is Medicine). I am happy I found this site, I just want some PEACE OF MIND!!!!
THANKS
The genetic tie does seem to run in my immeadiate family of seven kids, but the symptoms definitely manifest themselves differently. I am the only "lucky" one that got the hyper part of it - the others that show symptoms are the ADD type!!!!
