behavior therapy? | ADHD Information
try the marble system. i started it when my son was about 5, he's nine now. you can tailor it to his specific needs. I'm now coaching many parents here and from other boards and some people that have heard of it are calling me (all hours of the night and day) asking how to make it work. read the thread and try it. you can make it smaller to work for him at his age. instead of 100 marbles use 30 or 40 and only do 3 to 5 tasks at a time. read the thread and if you have any probs or questions pm me. it really does work.

my 4 year old has behavior problems. but is not on meds. i had the school district evaluate him and he qualified for a class called prep where they work on his weaknesses and behavior with positive rewards and praises. it classes are small structured where they work more one on one and he does great. i have read alot of good things about the marble system at the top of this message board that you might want to check out. personally i enjoyed the book" taking charge of adhd" by robert barkley that you can get at a book store 0r they can order it for you . good luck i've been there , just don't give up on learning about adhd the more you know the better , look for positive behavior all the time and let him know u noticed it , i get better results with my son with praising positive behavior but getting in the habit of constantly looking for it is a challenge but gets easier for its easier for us just to see the negative lesnathan39075.5374189815i also ordered the monthly magazine additude that u can subscribe to at www. attitudemag.com, have u had his meds checked?Hi,
I'm new here. Both my kids (12 and 10) have been diagnosed with ADHD mostly inattentive. They are both on Dexedrine. My 12 yr old is fine, but me 10 yr old son has difficult behavior. I know he needs a different way to discipline, but the old ways always pop up. Are there any books that you could recommend for us? I think we need to change the way we think, but need some help.
Also, anyone do behavior therapy with their ADHD kids?
Thanks,
Lisa
