periactin | ADHD Information

At his last appointment, he had gained back to the 56 pounds that he started out at....he had lost down to about 50 pounds.  I haven't weighed him since the appointment...the 18th of December.

I have noticed lately though that he isn't quite as "hungry" as he was when he first started on it in early November.  When I researched it before he started taking it, many parents said that it lost its effectiveness after taking it a while and after a break from the med for a day or two, the effectiveness came back...so I am contemplating a break soon...
Oh my god. My daughter actually looks chubby. She was languishing at 39 pounds for nearly a year after taking stimulants. I started her on periactin about 5 weeks ago and she has gained 4 lbs. She looks solid for the first time in her life! I highly recommend this appetite stimulant for those of you having difficulty with your childs weight. Now if only she would grow. She has fallen from the 50th to the 25 percentile in height since starting stimulants. Chasesmom: how is chase doing with the periactin?I noticed my daughter also seemed to become used to it. I stopped for three days and gave it to her again. It is hard to tell. However the weight gain is still steady. I guess I will have to stop at some point. She is already height weight matched now. I fear she would loose all the weight if I stopped. I am really hoping it will help her grow a little, though there is no evidence that it can do that.
