(Has anyone had issues ( bad side effects ) with Adderall and switched to Dexedrine with good results?)
sandy I went through a few different meds before asking the Dr for Dexadrine. She wrote out a script for Dexadrine Spansules and the pharmacy gave me Dextramphetamine..the generic...The Adderall xr made me too hyper. and the concerta didn't work for me.. Finally after asking about the dexadrine the Dr said they would try me on it . I started out on 15 mg of dexadrine spansules..Now I am up to 2 capsules I take one when I get up and another one 4 hours later..they are time released..They seem to work better for me....But I think If I could double the pills up at one time they would work better...I am going to try it today.

My 11 year old son has never taken Adderall. I don't even know if it is available here in Canada. However he was put on 10mg of Dexedrine when he was 7. This was not the right med for him. He wouldn't bring his lunch home from school. After school he would lie on the couch holding his stomach. Then he wouldn't eat any supper. After loosing 4 pounds in a month, his doctor discontinued the Dexedrine.

So far, it has worked great for her....except for the loss of appetite & she has lost 5 pounds since starting (she is very tiny anyway & is now 39.5 lbs!). This has been her first med, so I don't know anything about Adderall. Hopefully when we see the doctor in a few weeks he can help with the weight loss. Other than that, there have been no side effects & she feels great.

Adderall short acting and Adderall XR both made me feel horrible. The first 2 hours are fine, but almost like clockwork I would start to feel spacey,foggy,impaired judgement,and sense of being out of it this lasts almost all day.
I heard Dexedrine is different from Adderall...anyone out there know?
