that since starting this whole add/adhd journey with my 9 year old dd, it truly has consumed me, and has had an affect on me more than i have ever imagined. i have learned so much on this board...enough where i feel knowledgeable, and enough where our pediatrician feels uncomfortable with me and my knowledge, and that's okay and a good thing! this is a place that i frequent , often several times daily, and i feel comfortable being me. i am doing my darndest...i am trying to be my dd's best advocate...and i cannot say enough thanks to this board for all of it's knowledge. the senior members here are full of a wealth of knowledge...i know that vickie has been kind enough to answer private messages from me and it has made a big difference to me...and i know that there are several other members who's opinions i would respect and honor as well. this is a positive and great experience...i cannot thank all the regular contributors on the board enough, your knowledge and wealth is so helpful:)
i only hope that i can be helpful to someone else in the future. i truly don't know what i would have done in november without this board. ogram...you are doing a great job organizing this board!
hugs,shelley
One great thing about this place is that it helps us know we are not alone in this. Sometimes you feel you are the only parent going through this with your child. It is a comfort to know there are people here that can help each other. Thanks for the kind words Shelley. I too have found the wealth of information and experience on this board to be invaluable to me during the diagnosis and treatment of my daughter's ADHD. The experiences of the adults have help me see the importance of appropriate treatment as well. I know that as we approach puberty, I will find help, support and good natured humor to get me and my daughter through with as few scars as posible.
shellayA...I am so happy to hear that your getting the support and information you need on Adhdnews. This is a support board and our goal is ensure that all members that come here feel a sense of support and comfort. Gaining knowledge and reading about other experiences calms the fears parents feel and helps put things into perspective. It also lets us know we are not alone. Becoming more knowledgeable empowers us and in doing so, we are better able to make the right decisions for our children because we are more confident to do so. A support system is crucial and here you will find it as there is quite a mix of people and many with vast knowledge and experience. Senior members, newbies and those some where in the middle all come here in the spirit of support and together, we can all help make a difference in the lives of our children. Adults with Adhd and co existing disorders also embrace this board and lend a shoulder or a hand to each other whenever they can. Thank you shellyA for such a complimentary post and a special thanks to all of our members who have taken an active role and reached out to help others
Luvmykids0239088.0132523148I saw your post last night and wanted to respond to it, but for some reason, I could not get logged in, and when I finally did, the only place that I could post anything was in the private messages! Thankfully today everything is working, though slower than usual...
