You really should look into it....I wonder how much we could save if many of us stayed at the same place....you know how that works....and conventions get deals don't they?  Have some speakers come.....have a big "field day" type get together for the families.....let's start planning!

In-laws live in Charleston area--quite pricey there.  We rent a beach house each summer down in Isle-of-Palms.  It is HOT in the summer!

We live at the base of the blue ridge mountains, BEAUTIFUL country. Horses runnign in the fields, people on their front porches with lemonade.

Yeah.  The Carolinas are beautiful all year-round, IMO.  And I know of some really nice communities in a few metro areas.

Charleston area is the BEACH, yes, it is very hot there in the summer. I am 3 hours inland at the base of the mountains

Well as much i think Carolina is great , i honestly couldn't give this up. So i'll come by and visit you all in your happy community, and i'll  stay in Mass.

hi longsally i'm just south of you in northeast georgia, i can look all across my yard on the side of the house and see the blue ridge mountains all day. there are days that its just so beautiful. live on a farm thats been in the family for 101 years with cows, a dog, cat and some chickens. love the country air.with wide open spaces

I'm with razzlynne17....I'll be glad to come & visit.  I don't think there is any way I would ever give up my little island life.  My dd loves it here!

Ok, the point was for our children to get together and know that they have friends so they dont feel alone.  Can we set up a yearly convention or something?

Now THERE'S a plan....let's find an inexpensive vacation cabin, and rent it!  We can hike, swim and play all day long!  Let's just be sure to have all meds well marked so we don't get them confused!

I am serious, wouldn't that be a blast?!

We need to send out an enmass mailing to everyone and invite them over the summer to this area for a convention where the kids can meet, play and learn and parents can get a shoulder to cry on.  The children will interact with others like themselves and will learn the value of true friendship.  I wish we could do it.

Owesome idea. Make it to be in the summer, around July or August, so we can go. We usually go to the US every summer, to the Florida area, but I don't mind changing our itinerary for a convention. That will be great!!!

That would be TERRIFIC!!!  Now I just gotta convince hubby to give up his towing service.....

Hi all:

No boonies here: Over 120 international companies in town including the BMW plant. Our new home, over 2500 square feet, built brand new 2 years ago for 185,000.00. We live at the base of the blue ridge mountains, BEAUTIFUL country. Horses runnign in the fields, people on their front porches with lemonade.

Did anyone see the movie sleeping with the enemy where the girl moves into the house and sits on the front porch swing?  It is GORGEOUS here and thr average temp is about 75 F.  Warm, sunny, friendly, close to everything.

Move on down and live the good life

Sounds good to me for my job I can go anywhere whenever there are people in need.   I say, everyone move to the South.  I live in South Carolina where the cost of living is SSSOOO LOW. 2hours in the winter and I am skiing, 3 hours in the summer and I am at the beach.  Lets let all our kids grow up together so that noone is lonely and noone has to deal with testy parents who do not understand.  Is anyone with me?  rah rah rah

Hmm.  Not too farfetched, here.  I have family and a plot of land in SC.  And I'm planning to retire there.  Unfortunately (or is it fortunate?) I can't see DS giving up his new-found network of friends to go live in the boonies. (No offense to SC, btw. The boonies is just where my land happens to be -- by design, since that's where I want to spend my golden years.  )

Yeah. The boonies sound good to me too. Was just discussing with my mom where we could immigrate to.  America would be a choice if it wasn't for the green card.  When you say low there, give me specifics? Like as in what does a three bed house cost there? What could you get a two year old family car for? etc.  Any info like that would be great.

I would love it. But I have the same problem Gutsy has: The green card.  Of course, the job!!! We really want to get out of here. I love my place but not under these circunstances.

HELP!!!!!!!!!
