new to board looking for some advice | ADHD Information

my son has been on ritalin for 6 months now seems to be doing better in school  problem i'm having now is hes coming out of school feeling low , sometimes moody, sometimes tearful     is this to do with his meds wearing of  takes last dose at 12.30 really worried dosn't seem his self hes on 10 twice a day adhd for adhd        would take any advice thanks anne

This could very well be rebound from coming off of the meds...you can ask your doctor about a low dose of ritalin to be given to alleviate these symptoms if they become unmanageable...or some parents say that giving a drink with caffiene, such as coffee or Mt. Dew, sometimes is enough of a stimulant to help alleviate the symptoms.

You might also look into one of the long acting forms of the med to even out the ups and downs a bit. Here is a med chart (it does not have the Daytrana patch or Ritalin LA on it because the chart is a few years old):
