My 15 year old sister | ADHD Information

Share

Welcome to the board mrs.farino.

Your sister is similar to my 10 year old (except the smoking) before she was diagnosed and treatment started. Is your sister on any medication or other treatment? Untreated ADHD increases school failure and drop out, accidents, substance abuse, unwanted pregnancy and brushes with the law. People with ADHD have issues with impulsivity; defiance can be co-morbid with ADHD; and because they are usually failing and in conflict with family and peers, they can develope anxiety and depression. Aniety is not always exhibited as being scared, it can be exhibited as lashing out at everyone.

What kind of doctor diagnosed the ADHD and is this doctor still involved in treatment?

You will find lots of support and help here, and a little more information would help others help you.

vickie39107.7026736111Hello eveyone.  Im comming here in search of advice.  I recently got a phone call from my mother saying my 15 year old sister (ADHD) is out of control.  She told me if she could live with me for a little if would be great. (im 25)  Ive had you since Wednesday and i have to agree with my mother on this one she is out of control.  If you tell her somthing she doesnt want to hear she will curse at you. I was in her bag and i found a pack of newports and a lighter.  When i confronted her about it she said they were not hers and lied her way out of it. I called my mom when i found out and she told me as soon as she gets home she is punished.  My sister doesnt listen to anything i say or kindly ask her to do.  She claims she hates authority.  I dont know what to do.  What is going on with my sister?
