For those of you with Acid Reflux issues | ADHD Information

I have a pretty bad case of esophigitis/gastric reflux which I am usually able to keep under control with diet and proton pump inhibitors.     When I recently started a course of my first ADHD med, Adderrall, it induced me into a round the clock state of acid reflux and related chest pain, more severe than any i've ever experienced.    When I stopped the meds after a few days, this problem abated.   My question is: do all ADHD meds have this effect on people with this pre-existing issue?    Can anything be done to help this?

I find i get indigestion more often now that i am on the meds (Dexies) and very little seems to stop it. Even the doc can't give me anything to suppress it as meds like Zantac seem to have very little effect.

I have had reflux issues in the past but it has improved as i get older - now it is more unpredictable than ever! I find that if i am not eating enough it makes it worse.

Just my 2 cents
I get acid stomach with ADHD meds (usually Ritalin). I take Prilosec when it's
really bad; Prilosec works but is a bit costly. For mild acid stomach I just
take the Kirkland Acid Controller tablets I get from Costco.
Best wishes.I have had a bad case of reflux for about 10 years, now.  I have gotten by with few problems for the past several years by taking Nexium.  For the first several months that I was taking adderall XR, I noticed little difference.  However, when my dose was increased to 40mg a few months ago, the reflux really kicked in.  It is as if I am not taking the Nexium at all.  It seems as if I am constantly taking Alka Seltzer and Tums.  I am planning to schedule an appt. with the doctor in the near future to discuss this.
