Dexidrine side effect | ADHD Information

My family doctor did a EKG and my heart was throwing PVC's and pulse rate was to high. Two week later, no medication everything is normal. I want to go back on medication but I don't know if it is safe. They are going to do a 24 hour monitor test next week. Has any body else had these kind of problems? Thanks

If the stimulant is making your heart rate irregular, it is possible that you may have MVP. (Miteral Valve Prolaps).....in which case the doctor usually prescribes a beta blocker type medication such as Toprol or.... to calm the heart.

But if they can't find anything wrong with ur heart when u r off the stimulants, it is possible that u have something in addition to ADHD that the stimulant is not sitting well with.

such as bipolar, OCD, or mild depression or a combination. especially if you have insomnia with it too. do u?

mashtee200339110.4482175926This can occur with use of the stimulant drugs, different people respond differently to the meds. They do tend to increase blood pressure and heart rate.

Strattera is a non stimulant drug that may be worth looking at - i have never tried it before and don't know if it will have the same side effects (perhaps someone else who is taking it can help??) but if you look on the forum there is plenty of info on it.
I do not have insomnia and I'mprettysure I do not have any of the other conditions your mentioned. I am an asthmatic and have taken medications for that for thirty years. I am having a 24 hour heart monitoring test, maybe that will show something.
