NY Mom needs HELP!!!!! | ADHD Information

My son goes to a small private school, with about 200 kids.  It contains grades K-8, and is a small school.  there is only one class per grade.  They have no "resource room" or "special ed".  I don't if the "guidance counsleor" actually qualifies as a GC.  She was his 4th grade teacher last year!  And, she was not at all helpful when it came to my son's situition.  As to an IEP plan, they don't do them.

Someone also suggested an adovacte for him, but I have no idea how to find one here in NY, one that works with private schools.  And, they school seems clueless about it.

My son attended a NYC public school from kindergarten through second grade.  He always did well with school grades, and never had a disciple problem.  He did not have any behavioral problems at home. His teachers were always happy with his performance; however they did say he wasn’t always focused during class.  They contributed this towards “boredness” in class.  He was always labeled as a “very bright” boy.
