MyMadi...what dose of Focalin was your daughter on? What dose of the Daytrana is your daughter on?  We just switched to Daytrana....I do not think the dose is correct.  My son was on 10mg of Focalin and is now on the 15mg patch.  We just started Wednesday.

My 9 year old was on Focalin for quite some time and we were very happy with it. As is often the case, her needs changed over time and she is now trying the Dayrana patch. With Focalin, she had fewer symptoms than with some of the other meds. I liked it. She still refuses to swallow pills - so we had to sprinkle it and the taste was VERY bad. After several months on it successfully, her teacher advised that she was distracted and "spacey". She also complained of it making her nauseuos, so we're trying the patch. GOOD LUCK.Has anyone heard about Focalin and does anyone know how it compares to other medicines?

If you read through some of these threads, you are sure to learn what you would like to about the focalin.

My son had been on Focalin since late December.  For him it is working much better than the Ritalin did, and lasting significantly longer, but those are both things that vary from person to person.  You never really know until you try it.

Keep in mind that you can't really compare meds against each other, except perhaps for extended release vs. short acting.  They work differently in everybody as everbody's body chemistry is slightly different.
