My son has been dx with adhd. Is it normal for a child with adhd to act wonderful at school. He never gets into trouble, never talks, never ask questions and it very very well mannered. But when he gets home he turns into a demon. He is very angry and hits siblings. Yells at everyone.

I am not convinced that adhd is the proper dx for my son. But what other dx are similar to adhd? Or could it be adhd along with something else? Please help!

Sounds he "lets it all hang out" at home. That is probably because he feels safe at home to do these things. My dd also really holds it together at school, but when she comes home, look out! My theory is that she tries really hard to hold herself together at school, that when she gets home she has to let it all out, and get her energy out.

We tried to let her decompress when she got home. We tried having her run around and playing after school. Didn't really help us. One thing that has helped immensely with this problem is guanfacine. We no longer have such a bad problem at home with her acting out.

My son is similar.  He actually had some of the best behavior evals in his class.
Once at home is wild with energy and loves taunting siblings and can't stop once started.  Struggles to focus at home can take 2 hrs to do 15 minutes of homework, because he is so easily distracted.  He was just this summer diagnosed.  My sister who is also ADHD was not diagnosed til she was an adult.  Her behavior was good and she was quiet at school.  She says it took everything she had in her to sit still at school.  She was not focused though at school.  It was thought she had a learning disability til she was tested IQ very high etc....

Good Luck!
