Hello Im New Here | ADHD Information
Hello Im Shane.Im new here and wanted to introduce myself.Ive been ADHD all my life but have only gotten help about a year ago.I take Adderall xr 10 mg ea morn.I am trying to stop drinking(yes im an alchoholic too) so my doc put me on Wellbutrin 300mg.So far so good as I havnt drank in 10 days.Any one else take this combination? I just dont seem to sleep as well.Thanks......Shane in Louisiana.Hi Shane! It was nice to get a response to say hi. I think it is great that you haven't been drinking! My Dr. says poeple with ADHD have tendencies towards addictive behavior. I hope you are getting counseling, and I wish you good luck. Pepole are listening to you too

He also just started me on a drug called Lamictal that is supposed to help me from getting "stuck." With Adderall (or any stimulant), I am awake but pounding away on the same key all day long. That is, I become hyperfocused on the things that are distracting me and procrastinating important things even further.
So far, I haven't seen a change...except for an enormous headache.

Well yes I kinda knew I was ADHD all my life.As a child I was constantly reminded that I was"hyper" and a"terrible" kid.Then as an adult the problems started in my marriage and eventually I got help.The docs say I was self medicating smoking pot and drinking like a fish since I was about 14 yrs old.Shure feels good to know I can focus and Im not that "bad" little boy that everyone always said I was. Im glad I found this site and some like people.Thanks for your reply and I look forward to learn frrom others and help when I can.Shane
