with reading expressions, faces of kids and doesn't react properly.    Anyknow know of any books, photos, clues that can work on that?

And also getting in the other kids space.     Thnks to you.

Have you mentioned this to his pediatrician? I would.

You may want to have him evaluated. There are so many things that could be going on and at 4 you might want to find out before he starts kindergarten.

I don't know if you live inside or outside the USA, but there are programs here in the USA for children through the public school system in your state. You need to call your public school's special eduation department. These programs are free. If he qualifies for integrated preschool, it is free as well! And any services they provide are also free. It is actually paid by federal and state $'s.

My son had space issues with others, I believe that was part of his ADHD and sensory issues. He is very ADHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHD, so when he was overstimulated, he would definetly be in kid's space The kids didn't like it one bit. Both maturity, OT, and even adhd medication has helped tremendously with that!

Social cues can fall under several umbrellas, so I would definetly mention that to the pediatrician so they can assist you to a doctor for a complete evaluation.

Dear Elle,

I agree with Bethann, social cues fall under many umbrellas.  My ds was diagnosed at 5 with ADHD, as he's gotten older he too has problems with reading people and getting in their space.  Just this year he was dx with PDD-NOS which is one of those umbrellas for Spectrum Disorders and social delays. Ds is now 10 but with a social age of 8.  The earlier you get help the better off he is.  Good Luck
