side effect of concerta | ADHD Information

My daughter Rachel has been on 18mg of Concerta for 4 years and now on 27mg for a few months and I have never noticed frequent urination,, did you check with the doctor about this??just wandered if anyone has heard of frequent urination as a side effect of concerta? or could it just be something else? I was on 108mg of Concerta for about a year. It made me want to drink lots and lots of water all day, sometimes 2 gallons! Maybe it could just be the increased water intake.As far as Concerta goes, I am not sure. I take anywhere between 20-40mgs of Adderall IR per day and I notice that I tend to drink a large amount of liquid. I do know that stimulants such as Adderall (cant say the same about concerta without doing more research) can cause urinary retention and increase thirst.

Its probably a diarutic like caffeine. Pulls water out of your body, therefore increasing thirst and bathroom trips. Well it can cause dehydration in some people and they dont even know it. If concerta seems to feel like its making you tired, then this might be the cause. It does to me unless i drink lots of waterI'm on 36mg of Concerta in the morning and 18mg in the evening. If anything, I have had less trips to the bathroom on concerta than before!
