Are any of you successful in getting this off their teeth? ie., Cheesehead, is floss pick working?
Yes, I have noticed this practically since Grace started Concerta. It's gross, to be honest, you know when they're that age, (She's 9) their front teeth are so big in proportion to the rest of their face, and she's so pale and her face is so drawn from not eating, it's really obvious. I feel bad for her. Hope it's not permanent, I thought it was maybe due to malnutrition, but I'm glad you noticed it, maybe it is the Concerta after all. Wonder what causes it? I'm glad she's not aware of it. Let us know if you discover anything else re: this. My daughter, 12, has been taking Concerta for several years now and we love it. One thing I have noticed is that she gets a thick light yellow-brownish color film on her teeth. Anyone heard of this before? Should I be worried?I haven't noticed it....I will have to check Chase when he gets home !!Oh my gosh, I have noticed the same yellowish color! I thought he wasn't brushing!!
Well if the med is working and life is good, I will just pay for the Gleem whitening process that I have seen on Extreme makeover when he is older and the braces have been completed!!
Since my son's life is so much more positive since finding concerta and the dosage, I can't bother with the staining it may be doing!
Thank you for the post tsilber, you are so on the money!!
We take Ritalin LA and have taken methphendiate. When we went to our dentist a couple of months ago I mentioned the film to her and told her that we brush and brush and can't get it off. She just blew me off and said that they polished it off when they were cleaning his teeth and that maybe it was the toothpaste we are using and try switching tooth paste. We switched and I didn't notice any change. I find that I am using a floss pick and scrapping it off of his teeth.
