Guanfacine and clonidine can be used to treat the tics. It may work to use a lower dose of which ever med seemed the best, augmented with guanfacine. There are several threads about tics on this forum. Also look up the Tenex threads for info on guanfacine (generic for Tenex). This will give you information to make the discussions with the doctor about mangaging ADHD with tics a little easier.
If he is having tics then the meds should be stopped and the Psych called.
Finally worked our way up to the 20 mg patch, which seems to be working well--probably could go to 30mg, but his facial tics are awful!!!!! He is blinking like crazy, I only put a 15mg on today and then none for the weekend. Anyone else seeing this? He is 12 1/2 and we have tried all the other meds tics definetely worse with this. Thanks
