Is it worth joining CHADD? | ADHD Information

I'm just sitting here laughing about saving your money and buying wine. LOL!!!

Thanks for the advice. That's what I was wondering.

If there were a local chapter, it might be different.

In my opinion, the .00 would be better spent on books like Barkley's,
or better yet get the books at the library and spend the on wine. I
think the best thing about CHADD is their advocacy on behalf of those
with ADHD; they lobby for educational reforms and provide materials to
teach educators and caregivers about ADHD. I imagine that contributions
by certain drug companies help them enough with these efforts, so I
didn't renew my membership after the first year.

DD was recently diagnosed with ADHD. Among other recommendations, the neuropsychologist suggested that we join CHADD.

I checked out the web site, but can't figure out what benefits there are to joining. There isn't a local CHADD support group in our area, so we can't attend meetings or anything.

Have any of you tried joining CHADD, and did you find it worth the money? What sort of support do they provide?
