Have you talked to your MD about it? Good luck.
addentist39132.8111226852I'm sorry that I don't have an answer about the Med...perhaps it does take time to build up, or you're not at the right dosage...not sure. Have you checked into possibly having a mood disorder instead (or alongside ADHD?) They are common for the rage, depression, and destructive behaviors too. I hope you get the answers and the right med/dosage you're looking for. Plus side is that you didn't rage out at your boss so that's good!
Started on Dexamphetamine, felt OK for a few days, but am starting to get really black depressions later on in the day and I feel like I just keeping my head above water, I have a fairly stressful job and am a high achiever, I'm pretty manic and suffer from a lot of self destructive behaviours, so i need help as I don't want to get sacked again as I have a family and huge mortagage i also am very aggressive, where i just snap and go off, I scare my work colleagues sometimes, I don't think I'm that bad but my boss thinks that I have major issues? - i went into sales 2 years ago and like other people on this site I have truley found out what I am good at, I won Rookie of the year and sales person of the year in my first year of Real Estate - and I am one of the top 5% performers in my country for Sales - not bad for someone that refuses to have any training and is deliberatly defiant!! but I do wish i wasn't so sensitive and take everything to heart - I am also a very excitable guy and full of life, I'm also clean and sober - just over 15 years, so i am dubious about taking dex - i am sober minded though, so I trust myself, but are big black depressions, feeling flat as a pancake part of being on dex? I take 10 mg in morning then 10mg at lunch time then 10mg at night? I am really struggling at present - seem to be more sensitive to things in my thinking, but i did notice today in a meeting, i disagreed with what my boss was saying and i didnt have a go at him, so I felt i had control which was good, i just feel so flat!!!!! any help would be great. Also i have only been on dex for 2 weeks, does it take time for your body to adjust? should I just hang in there for a while???
dannyhayes339132.1995717593I really think that you need to speak to your prescribing doctor about this. There are many different meds to try in ADHD treatment and not too often is the first one the best fit. It could just be a dosage adjustment needed, or it may be time to try a different med. Even in the stimulant group, there are variations and one of them should be a good fit for you.
I take dex! but no nearly that much... well not since i was a kid and wanted to get high off of them. you should talk to your doctor and see if he will lower the dose.... was there any reason he made it such a high one in the first place? I feel that dex is a good drug, but its the only one ive ever been on. For the first month it will mess you up (mood swings, lack of appetie, feel like your invincable and want to fight) but it does work wonders.....
